The red sandstone Santa Susana Mountains near my home and the Southwest spirit of New Mexico and Arizona inspire me. I express whimsy by giving homage to things that are ordinary. Therefore, you might find a Southwest spirit, snake, cactus or pottery in my paintings.
I am fascinated by shapes and patterns and depict this in my cityscapes. The challenge of capturing jazz on paper – with all its intricate moods, feelings and rhythms also inspire me.
