Creative Storyteller, Artist, and Teacher
Welcome to Lorraine’s World
Lorraine is certainly a busy artist these days, writing and illustrating children’s books, being showcased in New York City, traveling to Florence, Italy, to pick up the Botticelli Prize in a Palace. How did this all come about? Oh, she is also the Original Creative Artist of the West Virginia University Children’s Hospital Float along with Children’s Miracle Network in the 2016 Tournament of Roses Parade, in Pasadena, CA, which is entitled "Wild and Wonderful."
If you have seen her Children’s Section on her webpage, you might have an idea. We think she still remembers how it is to be a child. Her Mayor Molly McMole Series is on Kindle/Amazon and so is her travel game for all ages, WannaBtruckers (ages 3 to 85+).
Her art is whimsical and her creative mind helps her get to the heart of things. But it is a lot of work. She doesn’t mind because she has a lot of energy that brings whimsey to her paintings and her books.
However, fame or fortune doesn’t come along without a lot of work and she has paid the piper and then some.
She only expresses what she knows--music, she played the accordion, clarinet, and is a cocktail pianist and gets pleasure in putting the intricacies of jazz on a two-dimensional watercolor paper or canvas.
She has traveled all over the world, but some of her favorite places are Hawaii, California, Italy, Nevada, New Mexico, and West Virginia. Her paintings reflect her love of mountains, and things that are just ordinary, but somehow they come out looking interesting, at times even extraordinary.
